ABOUT FIVE LAMPS FILMS
Established in 2006 out of Derby’s Five Lamps pub, Five Lamps Films (or 5LF) was devised as a way for local filmmakers to get together, talk about films and show their work.
Working off the idea of “an open mic night for films” we take submissions regardless of experience or age. From the professional production team to the hobbyist, we want everyone to feel that they have a home to show their work and enjoy seeing it play to an audience of peers and fans alike on the big screen.
We also try and promote filmmaking through our Online Library, which at the moment stands as linking to nearly 350 films.
5LF runs bi-monthly on the last Tuesday of the month at Derby’s home for creativity – QUAD. We run out of the 150+ seated Cinema 2. It is free for anyone to enter and filmmakers get two free tickets for the screening. To come and see the screening the entry price is £2 to keep ourselves able to use Cinema 2.
Five Lamps Films is currently curated by Sam Jordan & Carl Bryan.
