Seven/Five began life, in 2009, as an attempt to find and support local film-makers who were struggling to fulfil their full potential without like-minded collaborators. Its initial meeting took place at seven p.m. and attracted its first five members.
Six years later, Seven/Five has become, in partnership with Phoenix, an educational and networking hub for creatives involved both in film and related disciplines, offering regular networking opportunities, screenings and workshops, designed to foster an environment in which an independent Leicester film industry can continue to grow.
Seven/Five exists to enable film-making to take place on a collaborative basis. The membership consists of professional filmmakers looking to collaborate on passion projects and hobbyists looking to get involved on productions and upskill themselves in film.
Seven/Five does not support the use of members’ time and skill on a no pay basis for commercial film and media services which should be paid for.
Seven/Five is managed by a voluntary board made up of Seven/Five members. The aim is for the board to be representative of the membership and continually strive to fulfil the aims of the organisation to the best of their ability.
